Why Murray Glazer?

He’s the principal of Glacon Contracting, and a degreed civil engineer with emphasis on structural design, obtaining his B.S.C.E. from Worcester Tech in 1972. He has over forty years of general contracting experience in all aspects of construction ranging from field engineering to executive level and ownership of his own company since 1994. Murray has managed some of the most prestigious projects that cover a wide spectrum of challenges from architectural complexity to logistical site concerns. The variety of projects under direct and indirect management by Murray Glazer can be viewed under “Owner’s Project Portfolio”

Why Meg Glazer?

She’s the Vice President of Business Development and the OSHA Safety Director. Having pursued Environmental Studies at the University of MD., Meg’s career in project management and business development has spanned several fields, from the industrial paint and coatings industry to apparel design and just in time manufacturing to event planning. She’s organized and keeps our subs that way. Meg joined Glacon Contracting in 2008 to develop a new business strategy addressing the changing real estate development market in the greater Boston area and works with real estate developers, architects and our sub contractors. She is also the company’s OSHA Safety Director…she keeps things safe and humming along!

Giving Back

We believe in giving back when we, ourselves have been blessed with opportunity to succeed. Murray Glazer never forgets his humble beginnings as a first generation immigrant from Israel when he was a boy. Working hard for opportunities in education, he earned his engineering degree, and now is a successful business owner providing local jobs in the Boston area. Glacon Contracting provides corporate sponsorship to the International Institute of New England (IINE) so that they may also provide a helping hand to the new generation of immigrants and refugees.

There isn’t anything that we can’t do on  time and on budget.

What our clients say

“Mr. Glazer’s attention to detail on this very complicated building was fantastic; his ability to meet schedules, create value and quality while maintaining sensitivity towards the client’s budget and schedule requires special mention. He demonstrated excellent insight in sorting out a variety of construction issues proactively, and in accordance with the construction documents. He provided a collaborative management and dialogue so as to fortify the design intent.”

Christ J. Kamages, AIA, President, CJK Design Group

“He impressed us as being a contractor of the highest caliber having more than 30 years in his line of work. He took on our project in a completely earnest and pro-active manner. Mr. Glazer made several cost-saving recommendations without hindering the integrity of the project, taking personal pride in his work, and sharing our joy in seeing our dream of many years to become a reality.”

Wilma Thomas, Parish Council President, Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Woburn, MA

“Fortunately, we opted to select Mr. Glazer as our GC for the renovation of Liberty Hall, a 278 seat theatre space and home of the Merrimack Repertory Theatre. From the word “go” Murray never took his eye off our goals, and he proved an excellent partner and collaborator as well. He took great care to keep me in the loop whenever a complication arose and he built an outstanding relationship with our architects. There was never a single moment that I doubted that Murray was our ally in achieving our goals.”

Justin Rowland, Director of Production, Merrimack Repertory Theatre

“The recent renovation of Liberty Hall for the Merrimack Repertory Theatre was a complicated renovation in an historic structure that required careful planning and coordination by Mr. Glazer. Murray worked hard to find us creative solutions quickly; he has a great skill set, an excellent technical understanding of construction and he brings a lot of determination and craftsmanship to the table.”

Bruce Herrmann, AIA Director Wilson Butler Architects

“Glacon has been great to work with. Thoughtful execution and problem solving skills make the difficult building process go smoothly. I look forward to the final result and look forward to continuing my relationship with Glacon.”

Joe Hassell, Partner, Boston Real Estate Capital
